Olympic Trials

Nate's Father's Day gift from me and Holden was tickets to the gymnastics Olympic trials in San Jose. Nate loves the Olympics and we are getting very excited to watch the Summer games. We were on the second to last row but could still see everything so well. It was amazing to be there and see the gymnasts compete for their spot on the US team.

Big Basin National Park

We visited the big redwood trees one Saturday. Huge trees! Beautiful. Holden loves to be outside and in his stroller. It is kinda cool to realize that Nate and I are the parents and now we get to decide when our hiking is over and we're all done, pretty awesome.

San Francisco

Nate and I decided that every Saturday we would go on a family adventure. 1st up: the city. It was nice to have an extra adult this time :) We walked around pier 39, Ghirardelli square and enjoyed a yummy lunch. It was a blast spending the day in the city with my little family.

SF Zoo

Our first Wednesday, Holden and I were very brave and ventured out to the San Francisco Zoo to meet up with his Aunt Marissa. We took the Caltrain up to San Fran and then made our way on the muni to the zoo. It was so fun and I felt very proud of myself for doing it all on my own. We were excited to see Marissa and she also fell in love with Holden, he has that effect on everyone. It continues to surprise me how much everyone just loves babies, even odd, tough looking people you wouldn't expect to be tender will talk to him. I love it, people are good - I'm always offered a seat on the bus or train and then people just admire Holden. I love that boy too!

California Adventure

June 1st with our little Subaru packed up we left for California for the summer. Nate landed an internship with NASA! He is working on a project with White Bark Pine, I could give you more details (I was just quizzed on it last night after reading his poster) but I'll let him elaborate if you are interested. The car was pretty full, Nate told me we can't buy anything bigger than a fist. haha. Holden was a trouper, he has the road trip thing down after our drive out to Nauvoo the week before. Anyway, we stopped in Tahoe to break up the drive. We stayed with my Aunt Dianna and Uncle Ashley and cousin Tiffany. Saturday morning before we finished our drive we went kayaking for 5 minutes and a short hike. Don't worry we are going back to really enjoy Tahoe. Saturday we unpacked and started our 10 week adventure, living the suite life in the extended stay america.

"Mindy you have a baby...you have to blog now."

Believe it or not I have 13 unpublished posts...I have tried to start our blog a few times but didn't know where to start. So, I'm starting now with this last week, and I'll try to fill you in on the rest.

Auntie Em came for a visit this last week :) We loved having her here with us and the week went way too fast!

Tuesday we enjoyed the beach with Aunt Dianna and Tiff.

Wednesday we went to NASA for bring your family to work day and saw the world's largest wind tunnel, robots playing basketball, and a piece of the moon. Emi even liked her astronaut ice cream. Thursday we got pedicures. Friday we hung out with Dianna and Tiff again. Saturday we went to the city! We started with a delicious lunch at Boudin followed by a walk down to Ghirardelli Square for some unbelievable ice cream. Then off to the Golden Gate Bridge. It was so fun to walk around the city and see some sites. Thanks coming Emily!
